The stock speaker is IMO a waste of resources. Good box, great mid-woofer, miserable POS crossover. The dihedral tweeters (not too bad single for rescuing budget boxes with blown tweets, don't just throw them out) don't integrate with the woofer and just plain fail the potential of the mid-woofer. The Bose 301-II OTOH works better and would be preferable stockers but is not a great loudspeaker because of the not dissimilar tweeter arrangement.
E-waving the Advent-2 realizes the potential of the box-midwoofer combo, transforming the speaker into something that can be taken seriously and with pleasure. If you might be interested in a DIY speaker this is a perfect project.
