Here are some specific tips for adjusting a 2D picture to simulate 3D using image editing software:
* Duplicate the image layer and apply a Gaussian blur to the bottom layer. This will create a soft shadow effect.
* Use the Eraser tool to erase parts of the shadow layer where you don't want it to appear. For example, you might want to erase the shadow from under the nose of a person's face.
* Use the Hue/Saturation tool to adjust the color of the shadow layer. You might want to make the shadow a darker shade of the original color, or you might want to give it a different hue altogether.
* Add highlights to the image using the Brightness/Contrast tool. Focus on the areas that would naturally catch the light, such as the cheekbones, nose, and forehead of a person's face.
* Use the Perspective Transform tool to adjust the perspective of the image. This can be useful for fixing distortion caused by the camera angle.
* Use the Liquify tool to distort the image in specific areas. This can be used to create a variety of 3D effects, such as bulging muscles or curving surfaces.
